Frankly speaking, I like going to the office each day. My friends are there. The work is challenging and enjoyable. But why take my word for it?
I know of several others who would wholeheartedly agree that Rubico is indeed a great place to work. In the past, several employees were offered jobs with other IT companies in larger cities. They accepted the offers and moved to the big city with high expectations. After a short time however, they returned to Rubico. Why?
First, I asked one person why he returned to Rubico. He admits that he missed his family in Haridwar but also missed the working environment in the Rubico office. "The atmosphere is more professional and the managers are 'macro minded'." He continued to explain that management allows more freedom to work according to his skills and strengths.
Another person who rejoined agrees. He returned to Rubico for similar reasons - the people and the environment. Rubico makes it clear what are the job expectations. He feels that his colleagues are both helpful and good natured, especially management. As well, there are more opportunities to learn new things and grow in experience.
Perhaps the most convincing argument comes from Surya. After only three years he has moved from his starting position as a Web Developer to his current role of Technology Manager. Surya recalls that during his first year as a Web Developer someone from America came to train him in network administration. Others continued to invest in his training and sometime later he moved into the position of Technology Manager where he became responsible for training others. Now as the Technology Manager he oversees hardware and software troubleshooting for the entire Rubico team. Surya continued to tell his story:
"When I joined Rubico there were only six other people working here and all of us were in one small room. (Now after five years in Haridwar there are approximately 30 IT professionals on staff occupying two floors.) I could see that the company would grow and the Director was confident that it would. This is a good company. It is a good place to work. I have learned a lot of things."
He especially values that Rubico believes in integrity. Surya feels that other companies care only about money but Rubico cares about its employees and delivering quality service. He adds that the benefits are also nice, like Saturday and Sunday holidays plus company assisted insurance plans.
"Are you planning to stay with Rubico?" I ask. "Of course," Surya replies. "I help the company and the company helps me."
Smita has a similar story. She also came to Rubico with IT experience but none directly in web development. When Smita looked for an IT job in Haridwar, one of her main criteria was flexible hours in order to accommodate her young baby at home. Rubico offered her this flexibility. As an IT outsourcing company it allowed easier communication with foreign clients from other time zones. Smita, after three years of hard work, is now a Projects Consultant who offers advice and direction to the entire team.
Smita describes her first impression of Rubico: "When I came for the interview there were only a few people here and many things were still under construction. In fact, they were still painting the wall!"
"What do you think of Rubico now?" I ask.
"Fantastic. Fabulous!" Smita enthusiastically responds. "I'm really enjoying working for this company. I enjoy my days working inside the office and now even working remotely, I still feel close to everyone. All of my colleagues are supportive. People respect my advice are very willing to cooperate in a team environment."
