If you are a single mother, chances are, you never seem to be able to make your paycheck last until the next one comes. Unfortunately, many of the families that are headed by single women are in that position today. With the falling economy, you may even find yourself without a job. This can change for you if you are willing to put in the time and effort to pursue your college degree. President Obama has realized that single women need the chance to improve their family's position and one way to achieve that goal is by offering scholarships to single moms.

This year, when the stimulus package was passed, there were provisions for free scholarship grants to single moms. You may qualify and receive up to $9,000.00 per school year. You may think that there might be some strings attached but there really aren't. The only thing you have to do is complete your education. The money does not need to be paid back so you will not incur any debt with your scholarship.

You may think of several reasons why you shouldn't or couldn't return to college. There might be day care expenses or perhaps you don't have a new enough computer to do your studies. That money can be used for those types of expenses as well. After you pay for your tuition and books, what money is left can go towards your living expenses. In fact, you may very well find out that the college has private funds for grants and scholarships that you may be eligible for as well.

Now, that you know money should not stand in your way of going to college, what are you waiting for? Hurry down to the local university and get your share of the stimulus scholarship money. In the future, you will be glad you did.
